    HL-L8260CDW Asking for a new Y Toner

    HL-L8260CDW
    Installation date : 2020/01/07
    B&W : 62
    Color : 1946

2 weeks ago, the customer replaces cyan toner (empty) and yellow toner (not empty).
1 week ago, he replaced the magenta toner (empty).
The next day, the machine asks to replace the yellow toner (which is almost full).
He double-checked several times that he had put the toner in, and tried again with the old cartridge, which he hadn't thrown away.
    What next?

I don't have access to any technical manuals or exploded views (fuck my manager).

If the new detection failed a full cartridge won't unlock the "toner end" condition.

You can help by using a secret reset menu, I found this on google perhaps better results are available:

Unfortunately the procedure is a little "timing sensitive" so you or the customer need several attempts.
In case the printer was doing a job you might need to shut it down and turn it off without LAN/data connection.

Customer could not do the procedure for reset, and it looks like the firmware is up to date ...
Guess I'll have to go see myself.

I don't know why but the reset procedure did it :

          How to reset the toner
          1. Open the front cover. Make sure the display shows “Cover Open, Please Close Cover”.
          2. Simultaneously press the Return and Cancel keys. Then press the Back key immediately afterwards, within 2 seconds.
          3. Press the Up or Down key to find the toner cartridge to be reset.
          - TNR-STD = TN-421
          - TNR-HC = TN-423
          - TNR-S.HC = TN-426
          - TNR-U.HC = TN-910
          Note :
Each toner has a letter representing the color, e.g. TNR-STD-C = cyan toner.
          4. Press OK to select the required toner.
          5. Press Up to confirm the reset. The display should show Accepted.
          6. Close the front cover and press Cancel.
