    9250 scanner calibration sheet.

Customer has a machine that scans the first sheet fine, then everything else is fuzzy. My research says that the scanner needs calibrating. It seems there is a special sheet to do this with and HP keeps it locked away for certified techs. If anyone has this sheet, I would be grateful to get a copy.

Thanks, when I googled it , it took me to a lot of different forums, none had a link and a couple said the doc was locked away somewhere in an internet vault. That was too easy.

The calibration went fine, but I have a question. What is the logic behind HP making you go through those steps to print that page as opposed to just giving you the finished sheet on the correct size paper?

Stopped trying to apply logic to why HP does most of the crap they do. It will give you a headache after a while

no brainer. The less i have to carry around the better, as you know there is never enough room in a tech bag. If you were used to HP, you would know its always there. I prefer it on the machine, rather than, order, wait, oh no, wrong one ect.

What I was saying was that the completed sheet should be ready to click and print. What is the reason for going through the extra steps.

reading over your question that i replied to again, i see your point... They should have a menu to print the sheet in one step. My misinterpretation was hp having available calibration sheet of the correct size that you can purchase. So in that case i take back my reply, can i do that.... You know also, that calibration procedure does not always go right the first time and i had a few instance just would not go. " cannot complete " or something like that. sometimes you have to do it a few times before it is sucessfull.

Hp does have some situations though that can drive one to boredom and really testing one's patience. Like the 4345 and 9000 series which most of the time take forever to boot up and then you cross your finger that it will not throw out a error code, then you check and do it all over again and again. The 9000 with a finisher attached can give you nightmares to find and remove the paper when there is a jam..
On the other hand, i have a 4250 and a 4000 at home and would not want another printer, they are just rock solid machines, easy to work on and very reliable.

If only they can put a back up rom on thier formatter pwb, i think they will sell a whole lot more machines. If the firmware is not done correctly, the formatter fails and although there is some methods of recovery, they are not always sucessfull. Hp color machine for the most part works well with their oem toner, but aftermarket is very picky. Also fusers, oem is much better, but the cost is not justifiable. When tending, some customers want them, so you have no choice if you want to be in the race.
All in all hp are not for techs whose patience is thin. Customers like them though.
