    Lexmark 9-series

Does anyone know if the new A3 9-series are built by Lexmark or rebadged boxes like their previous A3 devices?
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

From the Lexmark Webinar intro that I watched yesterday they are a new design and sound very impressive.

Pantum just released a new series of A3 copiers that are very similar to the new Lexmark A3 copiers.

RTMworld on LinkedIn: Pantum Launches New A3 Copiers - RTM World

NineStar owns both Pantum and Lexmark.

Pantum is one of the NineStar brands that are banned in the USA over allegations that they use forced/slave labour in the construction of their products. NineStar appealed this ruling to the US gov't and lost.

Pantum brand continues to ship product into the USA by using various deceptions to evade the ban.

... there is significant concern that any data being collected by these new Lexmark A3 copiers could be shared with the Chinese gov't.

I would be cautious about taking on any new "clean sheet" copier design for at least six months.

They usually have unforeseen techncial problems that can only be identified and rectified after real world experience from the field.

Lexmark tends to be very "optimistic" about their toner yields.

I think Ninestar is only a Lexmark supplier and does not have any ownership. Lexmark is jointly owned by a consortium of three multinational companies: Apex Technology, PAG Asia Capital, and Legend Capital. Now these three companies likely also have "ownership" by other companies but I do not think Ninestar is any of them.

Like SSG said 6 months is a good wait period. Let other dealerships buy and place these new models and let them go through the pains of the early stages of improvements.

Those Pantum devices do not look the same. The speeds do not match either.

.... to a significant extent Amazon is complicit (aware or not) in enabling NineStar/Pantum to skirt the import ban.

.... NineStar owns 60% of controlling Lexmark shares. Everything is manufactured in NineStar factories in China.

Lexmark is now a figurehead company that sold their main facilities in the USA.

Apex is a 100% NineStar company. I am not sure about the other two.

              Do not be deceived.

As far as product spec goes, wait a few months. Let other buyers break the water and wait until all of the facts come out.

NineStar is very sneaky and I suspect the new Lexmark A3s are another gambit to evade the US import ban.

If you want to risk marketing product that is tainted with slave labour that is up to you.

At least two US states (Florida/ Georgia) and parts of the Federal gov't have banned the purchase of Lexmark and Lenovo product over fears they could transmit sensitive information to China.
