    Lexmark x642 toner

Does anyone know if the toners for this model will work in the T640 series lexmarks? I'm pretty sure the toner is the same, but is the cartridge made different so that it won't fit?

Although they look damn close i will bet they wont work.Even if they fit the chips will keep them from working and cost wise they are over $100 apart too.

Thanks for letting me know. I had one of these brand new laying around, but I only have customers that have the t640 series, so I was just trying to figure out a way to use it.

The T640 and T642 will work in each other for the regular (starter cartridge) yield and high yield. When you get to the 36K cartridge they only work in the T644 series. They are different part numbers, but they should work. So, check out this helpful tool on Lexmark.com at InkTonerResults
