On a lighter note: I worked for a company years ago and payday was on a Thursday, so was "sink or swim" at a local Bodega (they have a club in the back). When techs would call in on Friday, sick, the boss used to refer to them being "sick from the Corona Flu." I never thought that there would be a legitimate virus named the Coronavirus.

Even with the "quarantine", almost 5 million people decided to leave Wuhan.
Can be contagious even before exhibiting symptoms.

The UN agency advises people to:

• 1 Frequently wash their hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or warm water and soap

• 2 Cover their mouth and nose with a flexed elbow or tissue when sneezing or coughing

• 3 Avoid close contact with anyone who has a fever or cough

• 4 Seek early medical help if they have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, and share their travel history with healthcare providers

• 5 Avoid direct, unprotected contact with live animals and surfaces in contact with animals when visiting live markets in affected areas

• 6 Avoid eating raw or undercooked animal products and exercise care when handling raw meat, milk or animal organs to avoid cross-contamination with uncooked foods

CDC Announces at Least 110 People in the US Are Being Monitored for Coronavirus

More than 100 people in the U.S. are being monitored for signs of the new coronavirus, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The CDC is monitoring 110 people in 26 states, according to CNBC. As of Thursday, it was monitoring 63 patients.

At least 81 people in China have died from the disease, while about 3,000 have been infected worldwide, according to The New York TimesWuhan, China, which is the core of the virus outbreak.
Four other American residents, all of whom had traveled to China, have been diagnosed with the new coronavirus. They live in California, Illinois and Washington state, according to the CDC.

IF we could only keep it in those states wouldn't be such a loss. Hopefully they were legislators in those states.

I heard yesterday 2 -10 day incubation period... might be infectious before carriers show symptoms.

about a year or so ago, we had a report in my Patriot group that China had been working on a plan to spread pandemic viri in the western world... Could this be it? The source was an Army doctor that had been stationed in SoKo.

Glad I don't get out too much in the crowded areas.

Conclusions and advice

The Committee welcomed the leadership and political commitment of the very highest levels of Chinese government, their commitment to transparency, and the efforts made to investigate and contain the current outbreak. China quickly identified the virus and shared its sequence, so that other countries could diagnose it quickly and protect themselves, which has resulted in the rapid development of diagnostic tools.
The very strong measures the country has taken include daily contact with WHO and comprehensive multi-sectoral approaches to prevent further spread. It has also taken public health measures in other cities and provinces; is conducting studies on the severity and transmissibility of the virus, and sharing data and biological material. The country has also agreed to work with other countries who need their support. The measures China has taken are good not only for that country but also for the rest of the world.
